North Vernon Man Arrested for Dealing Fentanyl.

On April 25th, 2026, Deputy Max Marcoux had information that a person with a felony warrant was possibly hiding at an address. Deputy Marcoux applied for and was granted a search warrant to look for that person. Sgt. Deputy Kyle Lee, Deputy Blake Maynard, Deputy Devon Simpson, ICO Zack Walker and Deputy Marcoux executed the search warrant around 2PM on Saturday afternoon. While looking for the wanted male, deputies observed numerous items of drug paraphernalia in plain sight.

Deputy Marcoux then applied for and was granted a second search warrant for the property to search for illegal narcotics. During the search of the property, deputies located numerous items of paraphernalia, Methamphetamine, and other items related to the distribution of of Fentanyl. Deputies located 10 individual packages of suspected Fentanyl in a camper on the property.

The resident of the camper, Mark Warriner, 32, of North Vernon, was arrested and booked into the Jennings County Jail on the following preliminary charges:

– Dealing in a Narcotic Drug- Level 3 Felony

-Possession of Methamphetamine- Level 6 Felony

– Possession of a Narcotic Drug- Level 6 Felony

– Maintaining a Common Nuisance- Level 6 Felony

– Possession of Paraphernalia- Class C Misdemeanor

North Vernon Man Arrested for OWI

On April 20, 2026, officers with the North Vernon Police Department conducted a traffic stop on State Road 7 for a speeding violation.

During the stop, the driver, identified as Allen R. Martin (44) of North Vernon, was found to be impaired. A subsequent breath test indicated a blood alcohol concentration of 0.200%, more than twice the legal limit.

Officer Alex Holt led the investigation with assistance from Sergeant Driver.

Martin was taken into custody and is being recommended for charges of:

Operating While Intoxicated – Endangerment
Operating While Intoxicated with a BAC of 0.15 or Greater

“Operating while intoxicated puts everyone on the road at risk,” said Chief Messer. “These decisions don’t just impact the driver—they endanger innocent people in our community.”

The North Vernon Police Department encourages the public to report suspected impaired drivers by calling 911.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
